Mark Levin Show Lie about Obama Selective Service Registration

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Tonight, I was driving home on the Long Island Expressway from work, listening to right-wing talk radio, just to see what kind of lies that conservative right-wing radio are trying to spread. On tonight’s Mark Levin show on New York’s WABC Radio 770, a caller phoned in to dispute Barack Obmama’s recent statement that he had registered for selective service (conscription) after he graduated from high school in 1979.

That caller and others to follow all tried to discredit Barack Obama, calling him a liar. And, Mark Levin when along with it, without checking the facts. His show also went so far as to publish this lie on their web site at http://www.marklevinshow.com. I have provided  a screen shot below for accuracy.

I was so disgusted, that I pulled off the highway and pulled out my laptop to check the facts for myself. So, here I am now, sitting in a Kentucky Fried Chicken/A&W restaurant furiously typing away.

I learned when conscription was reinstated in 1980, ALL U.S. CITIZENS BORN AFTER JANUARY 1, 1960 were required to register. It did not matter that Obama graduated in 1979. He still had to register because he was born on August 4, 1961.

Here is the quote from Wikipedia’s entry on the reinstatement of conscription:

Post-1980 draft registration

In 1980, Congress re-instated the requirement that young men register with the Selective Service System. At that time it was required that all males, born on or after January 1, 1960 register with the Selective Service System.

Just another right wing radio smear campaign to discredit Obama. Can you believe anything Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh or Laura Ingram spew out of their venomous mouths? I certainly can’t. The problem is, they get away with this and are not held accountable for the erroneous information they spread over the public airwaves.

I am not a proponent of censorship by any means, however, Mark Levin must be held accountable for spreading this absolute lie over the airwaves. It’s disgusting that he can get away with spreading false information and nothing happens to him. He should be thrown off the air for this. At least suspended for a month and his pay be donated to a charity of Obama’s choice.

I say to my fellow Democrats and Obama supporters. Please call WABC in New York City and complain about Mark Levin. Let’s see what happens if we all get together and shout this man down from his protective perch behind the mic where he thinks he’s not accountable for anything he says.

Hypocritical Republican Talking Points

Friday, September 5th, 2008

One of the fundamental reasons why many Americans (Democrat or Republican) do not like the Republican party is because of the hypocritical viewpoints constantly driven home by right wing controlled radio and Fox News. Time after time, day after day and comment after comment, there are some on the right in this country who love to slam people for not living the way they think they should live. But, when they want something to go their way, they will defend that same position–even it it means flat out changing their opinion on a minute-by-minute basis. Talk about flip flop!

I, for one, am personally disgusted with the lying, cheating, stealing and make ourselves wealthier while everyone else suffers Republican Party. I was disgusted the day George Bush took office. And now, I’m even more disgusted that a bunch of people are rallying around someone they’ve NEVER MET IN THEIR LIVES. They are saying that she is the savior of the Republican party, in order to push her a heartbeat away from the Presidency of the United States of America. This is not a movie. This is not a soap opera. This is our reality today and it is despicable.

Sarah Palin gives one slanderous, vicious speech, filled with complete lies and falsehoods. All while the red, white and blue of the American flag waves in the background. Is this what American has come to? To me, it’s more of the same.

American politicians on both sides are guilty. It’s my opinion that the worst of the lot are on the Republican side of the equation. They are a bunch of self-absorbed, half-assed politicians so desperately wanting to both hang onto power and their money, that they will SAY or DO anything to put themselves into the highest office in the land. Why? So they can drill until we have nothing left in this hemisphere, because they are too lazy to try something new. McCain has voted against many new energy policies. Obama has a vision to transform the country and lead the world on new energy policy.

When we talk about restoring American principles and values to the White House, we’re now talking about putting someone with literally NO FOREIGN POLICY EXPERIENCE a heart-beat away from running the free world? Are we crazy? Talk about being the laughingstock of the world. If anything happened to McCain, we’d want Palin going up against the Axis of Evil? Making the decision to go into Pakistan? Or, negotiate on nuclear issues with Europe vs. Iran? Give me a break! She has NO experience on the national or international stage. What does she know about nuclear policy? She studied journalism, not political science. She didn’t even have a passport until she decided to go visit the Alaskan National Guard in Kuwait after 40-plus years. It took her that long to visit another country? Okay…I’ll make that 24-years, give or take a year and give Palin the benefit of the doubt. There are thousands of young people who study abroad today. I’ve been to more foreign countries than Palin. And that does not include Canada, who she gave a $40 Billion gas contract to for a pipeline. Talk about shipping American jobs overseas? She shipped them right next door.

Maybe we don’t have an American company that can do the work. I don’t know. I’d sure like to find out why did this job go to a Canadian company? I love Canada, but now their dollar is equal to hours. There shouldn’t be any real savings that would prevent us from keeping that contract in the U.S.

Listen to Bill O’Reilly, a hack of a journalist and probably the biggest right wing puppet ever (yes, even bigger than Rush Limbaugh), say that it’s not okay for Jamie Lynn Spears to have a baby (whose family can support her, thank you very much), but it’s perfectly fine for Palin’s daughter to get pregnant at 17. Because it’s simply just a “personal matter.” Wasn’t there a child rape law passed somewhere? When was it okay for a mother to get on stage and state that she is proud of her daughter for having sex before she’s legally supposed to? When I was younger, I remember my first love asking me to wait until AFTER she was 18 to have sex. I respected that and waited for her to reach legal age. If I didn’t, I could have been arrested. But Palin’s daughter and Levi get a pass by the Christian right? The hypocrisy is outrageous.

Dick Morris should be the last person to talk about sexism. Wasn’t he the one caught whispering national secrets over pillow talk to his mistress? And we listen to this clown? People give him the time of day. Why?

I know that Netmix is supposed to be about music and other stuff…but we can’t just sit here and say nothing. It would be irresponsible to have this forum and not inform our readers of our opinions and viewpoint. More dance music blogs and web sites should do the same. And if they don’t get involved, for one reason or another, then don’t complain when more of your rights are stripped away by Republican right wing censors who want to ban books (and possibly music). Remember, Palin once wanted to ban books from her local library and fired the librarian because she didn’t get her way (the librarian was hired back after a public outcry). Is this the kind of censorship you want a hair-trigger away from being the leader of the free world? Not me, that’s for sure.

I also ask, what is Sarah Palin’s position on file sharing? Have her kids ever downloaded music for free? Have her kids ever illegally shared music files with anyone else? Inquiring minds want to know. If so, what did Palin do about it? She has five kids (one recent). One out of the older four must have an iPod, right? Who’s asking the tough questions?

Have you looked at McCain’s Economic Plan on his web site? Have you compared that with Obama’s? The democratic candidates policy proposals are so specific and so well thought out, while McCain’s are pretty much a few paragraphs of hokey crap.

C’mon people. We are smarter than this! It’s not that I am enthralled by Obama. It’s that we believe he is truthful and respectful of our intelligence as Americans to make informed, real decisions based on the issues. Not on a popularity contest. The Republicans make every election about culture, not issues. This is right out of the Karl Rove playbook. Fool me once, okay. Fool me twice, I should be ashamed.

McCain is supposed to be a “maverick,” but he totally CRUMBLED to the Christian religious right wing of his party at the last minute, so he would be able to be able to have his chance–a final chance I might ad–to win the White House.

I say to John McCain: you can’t even fight your own party, how can I expect you to fight for me on the world stage? You talk about fighting special interests, but you’re a sucker cause the Right got to you. You put someone who doesn’t even believe what you believe on your ticket! And you’re telling me that you deserve the chance to ascend to the Presidency of the United States, based on all of this? Then, you go on national television and try to sell it to the American people, like some used car salesman. You wanted Lieberman, but now here’s this shiny new, more expensive car with a higher interest rate that will have you locked in for years in a deal you never should have made in the first place.

I was willing to listen to you make your case, but you have lost all credibility with me. I hope and pray the people of our great country can see through the politics of the same and choose Obama/Biden in 60 days.

Thanks to Jon Stewart and The Daily Show for putting this all in perspective.

Barack Obama DNC 2008 Acceptance Speech

Friday, August 29th, 2008

YouTube Preview Image

If you hadn’t noticed, we kind of support the Democrats here on this blog. Sure, Netmix is supposed to be about a lot of things not necessarily politically connected. But, we just couldn’t resist the temptation to promote DNC speeches and help to spread Obama’s message that “8 is enough.”

I thought this speech was one of the most inspirational moments I have ever witnessed in American politics. Experience or not, Barack Obama is a thoughtful, intelligent man with a vision for where we need to go and how we need to do it. He represents the next generation of our country who will build and execute a different path than what we’ve seen in the past.

Having hope and criticizing those who have been a train-wreck these past few years certainly is NOT unpatriotic. It is patriotic to say that what we’ve seen is enough. Enough partisanship. Enough war in Iraq. Enough oil. Enough layoffs. Enough of the America worker being treated poorly.

Of course…now an ad from our sponsor…lol. Heck we’re a small business that needs that capital gains cut too!

Daddy Yankee Endorses John McCain…WHAT!?!

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008
YouTube Preview Image

That’s right!

You didn’t read the title wrong and no, this is not a joke.

Daddy Yankee has publicly endorsed John McCain.

Over the weekend, the presidential candidate John McCain made a campaign stop at Central High School, a dominantly Latino school located in Phoenix, Arizona. While attempting to encourage the group of students to “be involved”, McCain softly acknowledges the real reason any Latino student would stand to listen to him. He begins to introduce his “special friend”, whom he describes as an “all American success story” and list this guest’s credentials, but falls short of mentioning the house with the white picket fence and the little dog in the backyard.

Right after miserably failing to make a joke out of Yankee’s hit song “Gasolina” and the rise of gas prices, McCain introduces Daddy Yankee to a number of screaming and excited Latino high school students.

Now beside the obvious shock of Yankee endorsing John McCain, there is only one thing I find very curious about this whole video. Right as Daddy Yankee makes his greeting, he is quickly interrupted by a man in a blue collared shirt (obviously a man who works for the McCain camp). After stopping Yankee’s speech for about 20 seconds, Yankee gets back on the mic and proceeds to continue his speech. But alas, Yankee is once again interrupted by the presidential candidate himself. McCain, quickly grabs Yankee’s arm and directs him to the group of students behind him.

Yankee, always being the crowd pleaser, proceeds to greet every single one of the Latino students. Once he does finally get to speak, Yankee begins to slowly state how he chooses “him [McCain] as the best candidate”.

Now I don’t know about you, but I just find this whole scenario a bit odd. I mean, whats the deal with all the interruptions! If your going to bring out someone to endorse you, wouldn’t it be a good idea to let them TALK!

And honestly, how much did they pay Daddy Yankee for that endorsement? Or did they threaten to revoke his passport or something. I dunno, maybe it’s just me. But I don’t really picture McCain drinking a Corona and shouting CAPICU at the Domino table.

McCain Rebuffs Critics as Obama Defends Patriotism

Monday, June 30th, 2008

NYTimes.com – John McCain responded to attacks on the relevance of his military service as Barack Obama addressed persistent rumors about his loyalties to the country.

read more at NYTimes.com | digg story

The Netmix point of view:

I usually don’t comment on this kind of politico stuff, but I thought it was interesting enough to blog about.

Funny how the Republican’s get offended when someone questions their favorite son’s military service, but they think it’s okay to attack Senator Kerry’s “swiftboat” service. Can anyone say the word “double standard”?

No doubt about John McCain’s war record, but why is that off limits when the Republican fear machine conjur up images of terrorism by using Barack Obama’s middle name, “Hussein.” As far as I know, Barack’s heritage is about as close to the Middle East and Persia as mine is to China and or Russia.

There should be no reason why McCain shouldn’t be scrutinized and vetted just like Kerry was questioned 4-years ago.  Yes, Kerry didn’t spend 5 self-imposed years in an enemy prison. That’s a huge difference and it should absolutely be respected.

But former Gen. Wesley Clark raises an interesting question: How does John McCain’s military service equate to his ability to govern the nation? Just because someone spent 5 long, hard years in the hands of the enemy doesn’t make him an automatic shoo-in for prez. It’s not that simple, or Barack would be easing his way into the White House with little effort.

We know what McCain stood for when he turned down his own release. That shows guts and fortitude and is certainly relevant to his character as a soldier and man, but it has little to do with governing the country. What’s wrong with asking the question? Are you less of a Patriot because you raise questions? That’s what the right wing in this country would have you think.

New Releases 6-18-08

Artist : D:Fuse & Hiratzka
Release “Breathe In”
Remixer: Fine Taste
Label: Currve
Catalog: CR041
Release Date: June-18-2008
Genre: Progressive House, Tech House, Chill Out
Format: Digital

Review: Fine Taste remix is repetitive and simple. Not a floor filler by any means. Something to get the crowd warmed up. Neil Colo’s Tech House remix has a lot of structured complexity with dark overtones. If you’re into the darker side of Tech House, this one’s a sure bet. The downtempo, chill out album version is included with the EP download.

Artist: Killfish
Release: Tatooman EP
Label: Jetlag Digital
Catalog: JED002
Release Date: July-04-2008
Genre: Progressive House
Format: Digital

Review: Out of the gate, Jetlag Digital put out a couple of nice tracks. These two are fairly forgettable. They don’t go anywhere or do anything exciting. Simply just filler tracks. “Grinder Cool” has a bit of an electro house flavor to it. A vocal sample drifts in and out, but there’s no reason to really care. The breakdown is fairly simple. Nothing we haven’t seen before. The modulation of the synth warps around as it comes out of the breakdown, but it doesn’t capture the big room, epic transformation you’d expect out of a long breakdown and build up. “The Fisher” is another filler track that I might play in the beginning of the night, but definitely not peak hour. These guys need to go back to the drawing board and take it a notch higher. The label is out of Spain. This sound may do well there, we don’t know, but we don’t expect them to break any records in the U.S. with this release.

San Francisco Lad Publishing & Recordings

Artist: Terry Williams
Release: San Francisco
Label: Lad Publishing & Recordings
Catalog: LADAL08041
Release Date: June-18-2008
Genre: Tech House
Format: Digital

Review: We’re digging this thick track with synth stabs that sound like urgent horns placed evenly along throughout. A nice twangy bass line carries the groove. This track is good for putting that skip in your step when you’re on the floor, grooving to it. If this is the sound of underground San Francisco, then we’re looking forward to hearing it played out the next time we visit. The Natalino Nunes remix takes it a bit darker, but that means it loses a bit of its cheery flavor. So, we’ll stick with the original here.

Incognitao album cover
Artist: Incognito
Release: Tales From The Beach (Album)
Label: Heads Up International
Catalog: HUCD 3141
Release Date: June-24-2008
Genre: Jazz
Format: Digital

Review: Just when you were looking for a smooth, soulful jazz album from Incognito, here it is. The band has returned with lush, gorgeous music and vocals you’d expect from such a legendary group. Incognito fans will be satiated with all that’s great about this group. DJs have three house tracks to pick from, “Love, Joy, Understanding”, “Freedom To Love”, and “Feel The Pressure.” All three are perfect for a Lil Louie Vega set. We’re thinking someone from Giant Step has already called him for a remix.

Head to Giant Step to listen to the DJ Sampler.

What I’ve been thinking lately about the world around us

Friday, February 29th, 2008

Hey folks,

Usually, I avoid blogging about subjects beyond the scope of what I intended this blog to be, which is generally all positive dance music, general pop culture and web technology stuff. But, this week, I asked my friend Dave Jurman what he thought if I started opening up the subject matter to more important issues. He thought it was a great idea, seeing that a blog can be pretty much whatever it wants to be, And, that if I thought something was that important to address, I should go for it.

I also thought about taking a page from the Raymond Roker school of social responsibility. Ray is the fiercely outspoken publisher of URB Magazine. He is never shy about voicing his personal viewpoints for a generation of music fans who want to feel connected to culture while learning about issues important to them. Ray has taken a position on issues from race and class to media responsibility, politics and society at large. I can only hope to be as influential he has been with his publication.

Media companies online and off have used the editorial page as a soapbox for their viewpoints, while separating those views from news sections of their publications. With blogs running stories in descending order, based on the time the article was posted, it’s a little harder to keep things separate. Yes, one can choose to post only to a category listed as a section on the right sidebar, but the post might not be seen by readers who opt out of navigating this site in that way.

This brings to mind the recent conservative attack on the New York Times for endorsing presidential candidate John McCain while at the same time writing critically about his close personal association with a female lobbyist. The conservatives say the New York Times cannot do both. That it’s just another Democratic institution flip-flopping on a message. However, if you look at the recent 360 degree turnabout of conservative talk show hosts like Laura Schlesinger and Rush Limbaugh, who were railing against the candidacy of McCain for weeks, then abruptly shifting to support for him, you can see that it’s easy to point fingers at others yet harder to live by your own words.

This has been what we’ve been living with since the Bush/Clinton/Bush years. 20 years of pointing fingers at each other and saying the other party and their leader is the reason we are not getting anywhere. The Republican attack on Bill Clinton for the Monica Lewinsky scandal was probably one of the worst attacks on any sitting President I’ve lived through or read about. Every week the Republicans were trying to come up with some way of kicking Clinton out of office. Instead of putting it behind them and working together to figure out solutions for the country, they spent $50 Million of taxpayer money to try and impeach him. I’m not saying what he did was right or that the Republicans were wrong for making it an issue. It was just a vulture mentality of lets destroy this person. That’s what I’m starting to learn about the Republican base. They seem to be hell bent on destroying anyone who stands in their way, which is why we must fight against that philosophy and why I have chosen to begin to make my voice heard.

Whether it’s terrorism or any other issue, Republican conservatives scream, lets “get them” before they “get us.” It’s starting to sound like McCarthyism or even a bit Hitler-esque around here. I’m even starting to hear the words ,”war against Islam,” on conservative talk radio. 4-years ago, Republicans were quick to say this wasn’t a war against Islam. Today, you can hear it everyday on WABC Radio in New York. This is what Hitler did to the Jews. Lets destroy them before they get us. And look at how the world ended up after that debacle. When do we stop “killing the terrorists”? Where does it end? How do you define that we’ve won? By destroying their homelands, invading and stamping our brand of culture on other societies? That hasn’t worked for centuries…why start now? Even if that were the solution, let’s get it right in one place before we get it wrong in another. Maybe Republicans are too busy reading business books and don’t have time to study history. In my mind, staying in Iraq for 100 years, as McCain said is ridiculous.

This is why Barack Obama’s candidacy has been so refreshing for many. People are dying for change. They’re tired of the selfish baby boomer’s running the country. They’re rallying around Barack because they don’t want another four years of partisanship or talk of killing, killing and more killing of the terrorists who are out to get us and the scare tactics of the Republican party.

Sure, if you kill my mother, I’m going to kill yours. If you destroy my homeland, I’m going to destroy yours. Where does it end? There has got to be a way to bridge the gap. Can he build that bridge to the 21st Century that Bill Clinton once talked about so eloquently? We were on a track of working with the world, now we’re hell bent on becoming isolationist and protectionist by fencing up our borders while battling for the world’s oil to drive our economy.

Oil is done. Shell, BP, Exxon/Mobil, Texaco, Sunoco and the rest of them must help the world develop new sources of energy that can be developed at home, instead of having to be drilled for in far away lands that cause those societies to resist foreign influence in their homelands. Or, that cause battles between those who have and those who don’t for since the industrial revolution began. There will always be war, I know that. But can war be muted by taking oil out of the equation? That’s a huge questions that lil’ol me has no answer for.

Who did I vote for in the primary? Well, I registered as a Democrat after being lied to by the Bush Administration of over the Iraq war. Even though I’ve always voted Democrat, I’ve tried to keep an open mind until conservatism swept this country like a plague. So, I voted for Hillary. I have reservations about Barack’s inability to pass important legislation in the Illinois senate and taking a “present” position on critical issues. I am also very concerned about his willingness to water down a bill that would have put the responsibility on the nuclear industry to create a better warning system. Then money from a nuclear organization was donated to his campaign in Illinois. I’m not saying he sold his vote, but he did take a less strong position when maybe he shouldn’t have. I don’t completely understand the Illinois senate and its process, but taking one major position on the war in Iraq does not make a presidential candidacy.

I also don’t believe that you can learn world politics on the fly. Hillary has been traveling the world for many years, confronting China on human rights and has personal relationships with world leaders. I feel she’s more prepared to discuss the issues, understand the nuances and face the challenges head on. While Obama is getting his advisers to compile information, Hillary has already show a command of the issues in the debates with Obama. And, why not have Bill close to the White House? Of course, she’s going to make the decisions, but as Tina Fey said on Saturday night live, having “two smart, intelligent” people in the White House might be a good thing.

On the other hand, if Obama won, it would be refreshing and maybe great things will happen. That’s what Obama stands for: change and hope. I hope he can really change things as he believes he can. If he gets the nod, then I’m right there backing him up too. Therefore, I’m not saying Obama isn’t an attractive candidate, I just think Hillary has a better track record of moving through legislation and getting things done. She’s had more time to do it then Obama, but is it time on the job we’re looking for or the ability to move mountains. I don’t know if Obama has the political capital to do that. Either way, its about time we had a black man or a woman running this country

I also believe that universal health care should be mandated, because young people who aren’t sick, but show up at the emergency room with various ailments from time to time, shouldn’t be given a free pass up until the time they need it. They must contribute like everyone else, I believe, at the age of 21. If you can vote, smoke, drink and go to war, than you surely should be able to contribute to your own health care. Although Obama says they can stay on their parents plan until they are 25, I had to have my own health insurance the day I left my house at 19. There are many parents who won’t be able to afford health insurance for themselves and, let’s say, their 23-year-old children.

All that being said, I feel like it’s important for me to make my voice heard on these issues. For the past 4-years, I’ve been taking classes towards a degree in Digital Communications and Media at New York University’s Paul McGhee School of Continuing Professional Studies. Many of my media classes have focused on thinking critically about the media, its influence on and responsibility to society to deliver the critical information of our times. Today, as I watch Fox News, I realize there is no way it’s “fair and balanced.” Nor is ABC Radio, which in my mind is 24-hours a day of conservative talk. On the other side, you’ve got CNN, which leans left. And, of course, the movie industry, which also isn’t shy about taking a liberal view.

Where do I sit? Somewhere in the middle. I believe in lower taxes and less government, but then I see the mortgage crisis and people losing their homes, wondering where was the government when its people needed them to regulate an industry who just ran over the working and middle class of this country with promises and bait and switch tactics? This is the defining financial issue of our times and has now led to another crisis the tax payers will have to bail out somehow, while these CEO’s with multi-million dollar salaries get tens of millions in golden parachutes as they walk away from the mess caused on their watch. Credit cards at going to 29% interest if you’re credit score changes overnight and there’s nothing you can do. Conservatives call this the trickle down economics of their hero, Ronald Reagan. I call this greed and profiteering at the expense of the less educated and the less powerful.

No one should ever be charged 30 percent to borrow money when the overnight Fed rate is just over 5% today. That means, it costs the credit card companies 5% plus a quarter point here and there, but they can charge you 25% on borrowing that money from them. It’s robbery. And how is that trickling down in the economy? Sure, the people who work at the card companies have jobs, but when they are spending it on luxury goods from other countries, vacation travel to other countries, fine art and Italian sports cars, you show me how that affects a mother of three living in a housing project in Harlem?

Republicans say its every man and woman for themselves. That if you educate yourself, you can achieve anything and you should have the right to make so much money, you’ll never want or need for anything for the rest of your life. And that is a good thing?

It’s all about consuming. The more you have, the better you’ll feel. You win and everyone else will win because of your efforts. I don’t think that’s true at all. As people accumulate, it’s human nature to keep for yourself instead of sharing in your windfall. It takes regulation of wealth and power to keep things on an even playing field for everyone else to be able to participate in the American dream. There will always be a group of people who are less fortunate that yourself.

Lastly, this morning I came across a picture gallery on Wired.com’s site of photos from Abu Ghraib. It was quite distributing to see our service men and women in uniform taking these photos for the world to see. This isn’t behavior I think our tax dollars should be spent on. We know that out of the 150,000 troops in Iraq, these pictures are not representative of majority behavior. Obviously, they are not, but they shouldn’t exist in the first place for a culture and society who say one thing but do another.

On conservative radio, they argue that we need these type of tactics to battle the terrorists. They say, if we had information by using these tactics on Sept 10, then Sept 11 would have never happened. Yes, I heard that last week on ABC Radio.

Well, guess what? We did have that information on Sept 10, but the FBI and CIA weren’t sharing it with each other. Who’s watch was that under? Oh…right, the Bush watch.

I’m sorry, is it me or wasn’t Bush just getting back from a MONTH LONG VACATION in Texas, and just a few weeks later that all went down. Conservatives would rather drill holes in peoples heads than actually think strategically about how to solve the ours and the worlds problems. It’s a Huckley’s Brave New World when everyone must think, talk and act like you.

I’m even starting to hear on conservative radio that this is a “War against Islam.” Yes, they’re starting to go there, when they said at the outset of the Iraq war that we were there to find Saddam’s nuclear weapons. Fool me once, okay. Fool me twice, no way. Conservatives have lost their base. They lied to the American people, and here is what they have to show for it. This is the proof that they can’t control themselves, which is why we need Hillary or Barack in office to return America to the high ground. Trickle down economics. Trickle down military policy. Trickle down anything has no future.

The world should not be about grabbing everything you can and letting it trickle down to those less fortunate or not in power. That to me, sounds dictatorial. Why we grab everything we can to consumer it, money will flow downward. Well…I don’t see that happening…it’s the economy stupid.

To my last point, I’m wondering how we can get the candidates to address the issue of health care for club workers in America. Clubs are all about profit. Are there any club owners out there that are actually socially responsible and treat their workers fairly? I know it’s a hard industry to police, but I’d love to hear about what’s going on in the scene.
