Okay, so I promised to post more photos and commentary from the WMC, which I’m getting to…trust me! But, before I did that, I was compelled to put together a new mix for April as the last one I did was in January. The music was getting a little tired, and what with Netmix listenership growing to over 3,200 streams launched in March alone, I think it was time to get crackin on some new sounds.
This month’s mix show is scheduled for broadcast on the following days and times:
- Sunday – 6 pm to 9 pm
- Monday – 8 pm to 11 pm
- Tuesday – 6 pm to 9 pm
- Wednesday – 6 pm to 9 pm
- Thursday – 8 pm to 11 pm
- Saturday – 6 pm to 9 pm
Don’t forget to check out DJ Madsol Desar hosting Netmix and Radio Mercure on Sunday’s from 10 am to 12 noon. He’s also got his Monday show going, Better Dayz Hip Hop Show from 6 pm to 8 pm and Blood of Haiti Int’l Radio on Thursday’s from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Netmix is getting to the point where we are going to need a few helping hands. If you’re interested in helping out this site on and UNPAID basis, then get in touch as we could use the help with all that’s been happening with the explosive growth and NO MARKETING, whatsoever. Our listeners are finding us from as far away as China, Tunisia, Nairobi, Japan, Brazil and Israel. It’s just been crazy, I tell you. So exciting!
As the site is free and I’d love it to remain so, I’ll also be soliciting donations to help defray the server costs. This month, our streaming bill went from $150 to $216 with Live365 based on our Pro Broadcaster agreement. I’ve been covering the costs myself for the last six months, but looking at the stats, we are going to have to start bringing in some ad dollars, sponsorships or donations to keep things moving.

I’m just so excited that Netmix is once again making an impact in the online dance music arena. It’s been 10-long and sometimes difficult years, but to watch the site grow again organically, you can’t even imagine how great it feels. It’s like giving birth to the same beautiful child, twice! LOL.

And, I gotta thank Beatport for putting up the freshest new tracks every week. Almost every track in the mix is a paid, Beatport download. And, thanks to the good folks at Native Instruments for TraktorDJ. I never thought I would go from vinyl directly to MP3, bypassing CD’s altogether. I swear by TraktorDJ…love it. It’s my new best friend! I know what you’re going to say, “what about the Serato?” Well, Madsol uses it for his shows. I haven’t used it yet, but I’m not really scratching right now, so I don’t need it at this point. TraktorDJ is just fine for me. But, I’m sure I’ll get into it soon.
My next purchase…the new Pioneer CDJ-1000 MK3′s with MP3 support. I need to grasp the finer points of CD djing as well as to start rocking MP3′s off the computer.
