International Dance Music Awards Ballot Posted – Hear all the Nominees on Netmix!

The good folks over at the WMC posted the final 21st annual International Dance Music Awards Ballot on their web site at WinterMusicConference.com. There are 39 categories, (38 posted here) including a special Lifetime Achievment write in ballot, just in case you want to honor someone who you feel made a huge contribution to dance music and deserves the recognition.

The only problem with the ballot is, there’s no music attached to the nominees and no links to artist or other nominee web sites! If you’re not sure what something sounds like, you have to search high and low in order to listen to what you’re actually voting for or read up on the nominees elswhere.

Don’t fret my good friends–I spent the last 3 nights putting together links to sound files, web sites and other Internet postings regarding most of the nominees, which I have provided below for you. Now you don’t have to spend the time searching yourself!

Categories 9, 18, 19, and 20 I’m going to finish as soon as possible. I didn’t have time to get to them, but I will shortly. They are video and album categories, which I have to link to iTunes or Amazon through my affiliate program. Not enough time tonight. I also haven’t gotten to the Break/Drum and Bass category. Some of the tracks are a bit hard to find, but I’ll get to them when I can. Definitely before March 17th, when the voting ends.

Also, there was little information online for the dance promotion guru’s Bobby Shaw and Johnny DeMairo. Johnny D. is one half of a production duo with Nicky P. and has commissioned a ton of records, including the legendary Tory Amos, “Professional Widow” remix by Armand Van Helden and he produced The Bucketheads, “The Bomb (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind).” There were a ton of references to him for the records he’s put out, credits for some of the remixes he’s worked or projects he’s commissioned at Atlantic, but no bio to speak of. As for Bobby Shaw, no web site at all and only a few links for a guy who’s been legendary in the world of dance music. Maybe someone can point me to a link to find him?

Hopefully all this effort will help you cast a more informed vote. Enjoy!
