Over the last few months, I’d been working on getting organized for our move from Chapel Hill to Winston-Salem, NC. That meant going through boxes and boxes of vinyl, some of which I put up on Discogs for sale – yup, here’s the link – and rummaging through my music storage, only to find a bunch of my old mix shows, which we’ve been re-posting on Netmix.
Here’s one from December of 2000. We don’t have the full track listing, but there are some great house classics in the mix like Chocolate Puma, “I Wanna Be U;” Modjo “Lady;” a remix of Stevie Wonder,“All I Do;” and Wamdue Project, “Cascades of Colour.” Take a listen, sit back and enjoy!
DJ Tony Z is back with another slammin’ Netmix Global House Podcast for November 2011. This mix strays from the underground, with a more uptempo popular flavor defined by a big room sound and anthemic, female and male vocals. This is one of the best Netmix podcasts to date. We know you’ll love it.
Back in the New Year with a new attitude, here’s the latest Netmix Global House Podcast for January – 2011. Yes, it’s been some time since we posted a mix by Netmix head honcho, DJ Tony Z. And, we know the blog has been a bit lacking, but we’re making plans for a re-emergence over the next month with a new look and a new direction.
In an odd turn of events, Tony Z. relocated from the New York City area to Chapel Hill, NC on August 1 to lead web and mobile development of the reesenews.org project at UNC Chapel Hill. Now that he’s in the Triangle, Tony is hooking up with Marshall Jones (Sound Cartel/Large Records/DanceGruv) and DJ Nugz (SoundCartel), as well as the Mosaic Music Lounge and other venues in and around the Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill area, to bring his brand of deep house, tech house, and techno to the region.
After a long break, I'm back with a new 180-minute Netmix Global House Podcast. Has it been a year already? I guess so. Life kind of got in the way. I'm brushing off the laptop cobwebs and putting together a hot mix for the holidays. I'll post the track listings shortly. Until then--enjoy!
