About Netmix
...
Check it out now...Madsol-Desar with Herby F. and DJ Tap is Live on Netmix this morning. Even though he's in the middle of moving, Madsol found the time to get some of his friends down here from Boston to co-host the radio show today. JussListenToTheRadio is on right now til 12 noon!
I've been doing a lot of surfing of DJ and dance music culture Web sites lately. I guess I got the buzz again. It's been a long time coming.
I haven't done much talking about Web sites here, so I thought I'd better put together a preliminary Top 10 DJ sites I'm feeling pretty good about. These are robust, content driven sites that have really transcended the early days of static HTML pages. They are self-sufficient, running on open-source platforms in .asp, .jsp or .php/mySql.
Lot's going on with Netmix and me personally. I've been looking for a new employment opportunity. The Associated Press just wasn't the place for me. I met some really great people (and some not so great, but nothings perfect in this world). They seem to be on this huge hiring binge, and I quickly discovered they are going through growing pains in the Services & Technology division that just aren't right for someone with my extensive new media development experience.
Hey DJs...what if I told you there's a way to go from mixing it up in your bedroom to broadcasting your mix-sets worldwide in a matter of hours? Call me crazy, right? Hey...hey...hey...not so fast! As many of you already know, there are numerous ways to host your own streaming radio shows right from the comfort and sanctity of your bedroom. Or, at least pre-produced and uploaded to any number of services that handle the either technology for you or you can encode your mix and upload it yourself.
1Today, mightly Goliath finally gave in to pesky little David, who's been knawing at its ankles for some time with an anti-trust lawsuit charging Microsoft with anit-competitive practices in using its dominance in PC operating system software to impact Real's efforts to sell their streaming software.
No big news today. Hung out with my friend Missy on Sunday.
For the past three weeks, I've been working with this great writer named Kristofer Upjohn, who has been patiently listening to me drone on about myself in both the written and audio form.
