Reaching it’s peak position of #8 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs Chart, this incredible remake of Fleetwood Mac’s “Sara” by Stereolove feat. Sara Loera and remixed by 7th Heaven is in our weekly playlist right now on the Asheville House Music Society radio show.
We’ve been looking for a remix of Kiesza’s Hideaway, a pop house track with deep house leanings that have every 15-year old girl around the world finding a street corner and shooting copycat Instagram videos of themselves dancing like Kiesza. After surfing around the web, we came up with two that we really loved.
The first is this piano stomper from Zac Samuel, a little known producer out of Brighton, U.K., who brings a bit of energy to the track. Here’s YouTube video below.
Sure that was fun, but we wanted something even DEEEPER! Well, say no more. We got it with this version by the Bixel Boys, who by the way don’t seem to really go this deep. Listening to their other stuff on their SoundCloud leads me to believe this duo from Los Angeles – who make “underground tunes for big rooms” – took a left turn and settled it down a bit from their normal big room electronic sound. Heck, we’re not complaining!
Daryl Marcus' presents GROOVY at Bar 13. Tonight's event is a fundraiser to benefit the familes of Octavia Saint Laurent a fixture in the house music scene for over 20 years. Octavia passed away on May 17, 2009. As far as we're aware, no details have surfaced as to the cause of death.
The event showcases 20 different Guest DJs on 3 floors of music from house to hip hop. There will be surprise vocal performances all night on the Bar 13 rooftop (moved inside if it rains). DJs Jellybean Benitez and Hex Hector wlil be spinning with Andre Collins of The Warehouse and Better Days. More surprise DJs are in the works, but no news yet from the Daryl on who those will be. I guess you should show up to find out. Work!
