Tony Zeoli is Founder and CEO of Netmix.com and Radio Station by netmix.® Originally launched in 1995, Netmix was was considered by Billboard Magazine to be the "innovation and advancement of dance music on the Internet." Tony had launched the world's first Internet mix show website featuring the most influential DJs from around the globe. After two-and-a-half decades, Netmix has since evolved into an online station directory and powerful WordPress plugin, Radio Station, for broadcasters and webcasters to manage their statioon's show schedule in WordPress. Tony has been an innovator at the intersection of music and the Internet for the past thirty years in project management, product development, and digital strategy,. He is also the founder and CEO of Digital Strategy Works, a WordPress web design and digital marketing agency. And, Executive Producer of the Asheville House Music Society, an online House Music mix show. Tony is located in Asheville, NC where he loves to mountain bike, hike, and play golf with his son.

What would you have done differently, if you were the designer for this year’s flyer? In these images, the designer uses an image of a ferris-wheel to connect the event to a “carnival” type theme. Over the last few months, I’d been working on getting organized for our move from Chapel Hill to Winston-Salem, NC. That meant going through boxes and boxes of vinyl, some of which I put up on Discogs for sale – yup, here’s the link – and rummaging through my music storage, only to find a bunch of my old mix shows, which we’ve been re-posting on Netmix.
Here’s one from December of 2000. We don’t have the full track listing, but there are some great house classics in the mix like Chocolate Puma, “I Wanna Be U;” Modjo “Lady;” a remix of Stevie Wonder,“All I Do;” and Wamdue Project, “Cascades of Colour.” Take a listen, sit back and enjoy!

Movement 2012 kicked off sans some of the bigger names in its history, but according to TellUsDetroit.com, attendance was up this year over last year, which proves you don't have to have the biggest names to attract electronic dance music fans for this popular, long running festival.
Migratory Music have launched what could be revolutionary technology for the concert industry. The company’s new Ovation Tower sits in-venue. A live performance is mixed down by professional sound engineers from Aderra and the concert is made available as a download either during or after the event.
Concert fans can walk up tot the Ovation Tower kiosk and either download the concert to their mobile device or onto a USB stick. They also have the option to send an email link and download from home.
What is interesting about the service is the large screens also double as video displays for HD-quality advertising messages, which give advertisers the ability to market to concertgoers. Seems like a smart way to double-dip on revenues.
It remains to be seen whether this technology will catch on, but Migratory’s recently announced partnerships with Nederlander Concerts, MediaNet, Abbey Road Live, SeePoint Technology, Aderra Media Technologies and YCD Multimedia, they seem to be well on their way. We wonder if the cost of production and the technology will be supported by music fans who line up to download the concert before they leave the venue.
It probably makes sense to download an app for iPhone or Android, allow the concert goers to check-in from a show, and then provide them with the ability to purchase the concert and download it immediately (only on Android as Apple does not allow downloads), stream it again (could work on iOS) or send a link to download it later.
Why go through all the trouble of putting kiosks in venues? Seems like a control issue, but we’d still like to see it available via an app. Wouldn’t you? For more on this story, check out the Migratory Music press release on Mi2n.
