Random Thoughts…

Since this is a blog, and I can write just about anything I damn well please, I'll take a little break from the DJ world for a minute and just write about what's been going on lately. I gotta fill this space with something...it's getting a little stale.

It's been quite a whirlwind past few weeks for me. After the last posting about Armand Van Helden at Avalon, I took a little break from writing and producing the mix shows to finish up some school work for my classes at NYU just before the Thanksgiving break.

My Top 10 DJ Web Site Picks for November

I've been doing a lot of surfing of DJ and dance music culture Web sites lately. I guess I got the buzz again. It's been a long time coming.

I haven't done much talking about Web sites here, so I thought I'd better put together a preliminary Top 10 DJ sites I'm feeling pretty good about. Hurricane Relief: DanielsFamilySupport.com

Dear Friends, Family and Colleagues:

On Friday, I learned from my friend Karen Langjahr our mutual friend,
William Daniels extended family lost 7 homes and all their possessions and
are now refugees safe in Atlanta, staying in hotels and a friends home, but
they need the support, money, food, clothing, toiletries and other
necessities.

Having gone through 9/11, Karen and I wanted to do something to help, so I
decided a blog with a donation section would be a great idea to help William
help his family.

My Thoughts On The Hurricane

As I sit here on dry land, in the safety of my comfortable apartment in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, the news of the disaster has slowly gained strength, jut like Hurrican Katrina that preceded it, in the sphere that shapes my world.

My friend, Dagmara Grajewska, is sitting in a hotel room, 90 miles SW of New Orleans at this very moment. She was visiting her brother who had just arrived from Poland on a Nigerian operated, Greek-owned tanker just a few days before the Hurricane Katrina crossed over Florida. She and her brother are safe. They have food and water, but she reported tonight that the lawlessness has krept from the city's center out into other parts of Louisiana, reaching where she is now.
